MCTONNE CANCER CARE FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization established in 2016 and our main job includes creating awareness, free screening for breast and cervical cancer, management of lymphedema, health education counseling, supportive care and home-based palliative care
Suffice it to say, the alarming rate at which cancer especially breast and cervical cancer today is increasing in the tropics which, hitherto, was not known in such magnitude, makes me more interested in working hard to help mitigate the resurgence of the cancer menace and heighten the sensitization of breast, cervical and childhood cancers to awaken the desire of people to resort to regular checks and screening because early detection saves life.
We have seen a wide variety of this cases most of them presenting at late stages despite the poor prognosis of most of them, early detection gives the best treatment outcomes. We have thus been advocating for education on early detection for cancers especially in the rural poor communities where illiteracy abounds and medical services are usually not readily available.
Mandate to this, we have been organizing free screening outreach programs at churches, high schools, and communities for early detection and treatment.
